For a few weeks now, in the build up to my first vote, I have thought to myself who to vote for. Recently I have been viewing news websites and reading the leaflets that have been posted through my door. As my knowledge of politics is limited, I have to go by what I know.
And so I decided to look at the first party that came to mind,
Labour. I sat and thought about what I had endured during their time in power over the last 12 years. And I thought, what have labour done in this country to deserve any vote from me. I realised that I felt my education was inadequate, I was always having to spend hours in hospital for injuries that could be heal in at least half the time and then, of course, I looked at the state of the economy and immigration!! I may be wrong, and labour may be a strong party to vote for, but I find it hard to justify me voting the party.
Recently, during a key skills lesson at college, I had to prepare an argument for and against Britain's involvement in the European Union. I discovered that being part of Europe meant that citizens from other member states were allowed into the country to work here because of European citizens rights. It seems to me then that to stop the amount of job losses and migrant workers, Britain has to withdraw its membership in the
European Union. Independence seems to be Britains only option so that we as a nation can govern ourselves freely.
With this in mind, I looked at parties that speak of independence or less power in Brussels. From a leaflet that was posted through my door, I learnt that the
Liberal Democrats want to be more involved in Europe and work more alongside the EU. And so I decided that the Lib Dems were not getting my vote!! In this leaflet, it also stated that the conservatives are agreeing with my idea. The Lib Dems were telling me that if the conservatives were voted, then Britain would leave the EU and cripple itself. In my opinion, this country was the greatest in the world before the EU and will be after it leaves.
Britain has so much to offer, and this is why other countries need us. Yet we are abused by the legislations from Brussels that govern us. What is the point of electing a local council or voting for a new parliament if the EU passes 75% of British law.
This is where smaller parties come in. For years my father has been an open racist and has always said that the BNP should govern. Now I do not share all my father's opinions, but he is right about something. Parties like the BNP
should lead the country. Parties like
UKIP and the
BNP have listened to the population and are ready to lead the way to independence, to freedom and strength. This country needs unity and patriots. These parties, in my opinion (which I can give due to my human rights!), are the way forward.
In conclusion, I have decided that either the BNP or UKIP will be receiving my vote!
